How You Can Help
The Dudley Conservation Land Trust (DCLT) thrives because of people like you. Whether you have an hour, a skill to share, or a passion for protecting open space, there are many ways to get involved.

Spot an Issue? Let Us Know.
See something that needs attention on one of our properties? We appreciate the extra set of eyes. If you notice trail damage, fallen signage, or anything that could improve the visitor experience, please reach out. Your feedback helps us care for the land more effectively. Contact us.
Join Our Stewardship Crew
Our volunteer stewards are the hands and heart behind our trails. From building and maintaining paths to managing invasive species and supporting habitat restoration, there’s always meaningful work to be done.
With recent land acquisitions opening up exciting possibilities for expanded trail networks in northeast Dudley and beyond, this is a great time to get involved. Join us for a day — or become a regular steward — and help shape the future of our conserved lands. View our event calendar for upcoming Stewardship Days.
Become a Member
Membership is one of the simplest and most impactful ways to support DCLT. Members help sustain our conservation work while staying connected to our events, projects, and community initiatives. Learn more about becoming a member.
Volunteer Your Time
Conservation takes energy. Beyond trail work, we welcome volunteers who can help with events, outreach, communications, website updates, and more. If you’re passionate about land conservation and community service, we’d love to connect — you might even consider serving on our Board of Directors. Learn more about becoming a volunteer.
Make a Donation
Protecting and restoring land requires ongoing financial support. Contributions to our stewardship funds help cover trail improvements, habitat restoration, signage, and long-term land care. You can support DCLT through monetary donations, land donations, or gift or legacy giving. Every contribution helps ensure our community’s open spaces remain protected for generations to come.
Respect the Land
When you visit protected lands, be mindful of staying on established trails, keeping dogs on-leash, minimizing disturbance to plants, and packing out all of your trash. Take only photos, leave only footprints! Explore our trails.
Enhance Habitat In Your Own Backyard
Even small choices at home can have a big impact on land conservation. Here are some tips for how to conserve habitat in your own backyard.
- Lose the lawn. Consider rewilding part of your yard with a meadow or native garden that supports birds, pollinators, and other wildlife.
- Ditch the chemicals. Reduce or eliminate pesticide and herbicide use to protect beneficial insects and plants.
- Go native. Choose plants native to Massachusetts. Resources like the Native Plant Trust and the article “Why You Should Grow Native Plants in Your Garden” by Smithsonian Magazine offer helpful guidance.
- Remove invasive species. Learning to identify and safely remove invasive, non-native plants allows native ecosystems to thrive.
