Dudley, MA – The Dudley Conservation Land Trust (DCLT) announces its spring calendar of events, soon to be posted on their new website. A key part of our mission is to promote conservation values within the community and to offer diverse ways for people to enjoy nature and the outdoors. This spring, get out there and enjoy the fresh air! All events are free to the public!
First off, we will be conducting a volunteer trail clean-up day at Slater Woods. We will meet at the trailhead, at 339 Dudley Oxford Road. We will work to widen the main trail where necessary and to clean up downed trees. There may also be an opportunity to place a new bench or two along the trail. Tools will be provided or bring along your favorite clippers or loppers. Stay as long as you like – the clean-up will run from 9AM-12PM on Saturday, April 4.
Looking for something for the kids to cap off their school vacation week? Come on down to theDudley Grange on Center Road April 25 from 10AM-12PM to learn about Animals from A to Z. Lee Burpee, co-owner of Burpee Animal Zoo, will present a FREE program providing close encounters with a variety of animals. The animals will be presented for the audience to learn and engage with them. There will be a variety of familiar farm animals, reptiles and distant animals like an Australian kangaroo. How cool will that be! This event is co-sponsored by DCLT and the Dudley Cultural Council.
Finally, on May 2 from 10AM-12PM, join our Hiking Club leader, Dave Harrigan, on an easy hike beginning at our new future home, the Perron House at 277 Dudley Oxford Road. We will take a couple of hours to explore this exciting wildlife corridor, beginning at the Perron House, crossing the back side of the property through Pierpont Meadows along Marsh Rd to the newly purchased Antos Farm Sanctuary. We will then make our way back to the Perron House. This is an easy hike and should take less than two hours.
No sign-up is necessary for these fun events. Come early, come often. We look forward to
seeing you!
