Help us celebrate the new sanctuary with special guests Lou Perron and his sister\, Susan Lyman\, the generous donors of the historic Perron house\, which will serve as the future DCLT Headquarters at 277 Dudley Oxford Road in Dudley. \n\n\nCome learn about the history of this 1830’s historic home and take a peek inside. Hear from steward Bob Hanacek about the planned renovations\, learn about our various initiatives\, and enjoy some light refreshments. Don’t forget to RSVP in advance to secure your spot. DESCRIPTION:Lee Burpee\, co-owner of Burpee Animal Zoo\, will present a FREE program that will provide close encounters with a variety of animals\, including a giant snake\, a monkey\, and an alpaca. The event will take place at the Dudley Grange\, where the audience will have the opportunity to learn about and engage with different animals. There will be a selection of familiar farm animals and reptiles\, offering an exciting experience for attendees. The event is co-sponsored by DCLT and the Dudley Cultural Council\, and we hope attendees will enjoy a fascinating and educational experience.

SUMMARY:Hiking Club Annual New Year's Day Hike at Slater Woods
DESCRIPTION:Let’s ring in the New Year by enjoying a hike in Slater Woods! Come enjoy the brisk winter air as we explore the woods\, view beautiful Peter Pond\, and check out Mass Audubon’s newest sanctuary\, Oxford Woodlands. DCLT is proud to hold the Conservation Restriction on this 239 acre property that abuts our own land. \nThis hike is over easy to moderate terrain. \n\n\n\nHighlights of the hike include walking the Old County Road into Oxford and exploring Oxford Woodlands until it connects with DCLT lands in Dudley. A short detour will lead to the Dudley/Oxford town marker and the US Geological Service marker before reaching Peter Pond for a brief rest. The hike will then continue through Slater Woods back to the trailhead\, with a total duration of about two and a half hours. \n\n\n\n\nMeeting Point: Slater Woods trailhead.
